Senator Nita Green spent the day with Jaragun in Babinda, where Wanjuru traditional owner Robert Ambrum took the Senator on country—to the site of a significant wetland system scheduled for construction in 2023 to improve water quality to the Reef. Robert explained the value of the Jaragun-GreenCollar investment partnership, with financing by Jaragun Wetland Systems making this important restoration of country initiative possible. While important in giving Wanjuru connection to country, the wetland is further the cornerstone of a set of strategies being implemented by Jaragun for adaptation of native species to climate change.

ECOSYSTEMS
Preservation our way of life
We perform system repair to protect or improve the ecosystem services we depend on to maintain our social, cultural and economic well-being.
Our approach is to work with catchment processes by maintaining and improving an ecosystem's structural components and managing current and emerging threats to their functioning.
Our activities involve a high level of integration with other initiatives to improve overall outcomes for the environment, which are enhanced through revegetation with native plant species, control of pest species and planning for climate change.
