It was great to host a field event for the Queensland Water Modelling Network in Babinda. The Network is a collective of water and allied professionals who contribute to solving complex water management problems. A shout out to Piet Filet, of Griffith University’s International Water Centre, who organized the event https://watermodelling.org/ that was attended by academics, Queensland Government agencies, engineers, university students and NRM organisations.
The event attracted Alluvium Consulting back to a site on Babinda Creek where Principal Consultant and Director Rohan Lucas had provided geomorphic advice on rehabilitation of the waterway back in 2016. Alluvium is thrilled with the extent of bank stabilization achieved through riparian revegetation since then and provided new technical understanding of Babinda’s namesake watercourse.
