Jaragun EcoServices celebrates hosting international delegates of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in September 2022. Delegates were welcomed with traditional Wanjuru smoking ceremony and dance. With Associate Professor Nathan Waltham (TropWATER, JCU) as Master of Ceremonies, the field event featured Jaragun’s whole-of-system catchment sustainability plan, together with exhibits by Jaragun’s scientific and investment partners. The field event was held at the location of a 34-hectare wetland system scheduled for construction in 2023, an initiative of Jaragun Wetland Systems—a private sector partnership of Jaragun and GreenCollar to improve water quality to the Great Barrier Reef.
