Qld Government expert gives introduction to drones

Marcus Bulstrode of the Department of Agriculture & Fisheries provided Jaragun’s team of Wanjuru Traditional Owners an introduction to flying drones. The team is using a drone to provide a safer and more efficient way to survey pest weeds for follow-up control and monitoring in target areas of the catchment - particularly the Russell’s national parks and waterways. Marcus is also applying artificial intelligence to automate weed identification from drone video footage, which will result in quicker, more accurate identification of pest weeds than through manual review.
