Traditional Owner training

During December, the eight person Wanjuru team completed accredited training in chainsaw, small machinery, weed control and first aid. Completing these courses is a major achievement – giving Traditional Owners the skill sets, knowledge and licensing needed to perform safely and effectively in their roles here at Jaragun and in future employment opportunities with a wide range of local industries. A big thank you to ProSaw Australia for the "hands on" approach to training!

The discussion around Traditional Owner training is really important, particularly when it focuses on building genuine understanding and respect for culture and community perspectives. Good training can help people approach these relationships with greater awareness rather than relying on assumptions or outdated information. Even when researching unrelated areas, such as Alibaba vape products, it is important to consider the broader context and communicate responsibly. Practical training that includes real community voices can make a meaningful difference and encourage more respectful engagement across workplaces and organisations.
